Take the reins of our brand-new coffee cafe operation as we launch Brave Bean Coffee in the fast-paced Pop District on Pittsburgh's vibrant North Shore! The Cafe Manager is a key management role within our growing organization. We are looking for an experienced and capable manager with coffee cafe experience to elevate our brand-new cafe on the North Shore, across from PNC Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall operational systems and processes to ensure customers enjoy quality coffee, efficient service, and a welcoming experience when they walk through our doors. Full-Time with Flexible Shifts | Management Position
$45k-60k / year
Build, develop, and support your cafe team. Develop and implement training programs for new and existing staff, ensuring all team members understand and comply with company policies. Strong focus on team culture.
Foster a positive work environment built on constructive feedback and celebrating cafe team accomplishments.
Guarantee the positive experience of every customer through excellent service and engaged teammates.
Remain knowledgeable about all Brave Bean Coffee products, roasts, and Veteran initiatives the organization supports to deliver consistent messaging, while leading the cafe team to do the same.
Ideate and implement creative promotional strategies, holiday campaigns, and cafe shop experiences that engage with the Pittsburgh community and ongoing city events.
Drive the cafe's financial performance and efficiency. Monitor and control operational costs to achieve financial goals and stay within budget.
Collaborate with Pitcairn Cafe Manager on seasonal drink recipes
Create and manage team schedules to ensure the shop is well-staffed and staff schedules are well-balanced.
Oversee all shop ordering, including coffee, milk, pastries, merchandise, etc, ensuring that the shop is always supplied at proper levels and able to meet the requests of guests while producing minimal waste.
Communicate with the COO and Pitcairn Cafe Manager regularly.
Payroll Management: Accurately record payroll data and ensure all staff are compensated in a timely manner.
Reporting and Analysis: Pull and review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
2+ years of experience in coffee (preferred) or food service
Strong barista skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
Desire to consistently improve technical skill set and exert responsibility for the new storefront s success
Strong critical thinking skills to handle developing situations with integrity and compassion
