Identifies, registers, analyzes and reports cancer registry information

High school graduate or equivalent. 

• Complies with Illinois State Cancer Registry standards for Cancer Registry on collection and analysis of data on reportable cancer diagnoses made at the hospital.
• Abstracts data sets per standards.
• Prepares routine and special statistical reports, including lists, graphs, design tables, charts and comparative representations.
• Assists physicians, nurses, epidemiologists and other researchers in providing information for cancer-related studies and research projects.
• Coordinates activities of the cancer registry with the Cancer Committee in developing criteria for patient care evaluations, as well as long and short term audits.
• Provides information to others on the capabilities and application of the cancer registry data system.
• Reports monthly to Illinois Department of Public Health, Attends mandatory and optional inservices and meetings to ensure competency and personal growth.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
