Responsibilities
Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Capital Analyst who will assist in management of the capital expenditure budget through review of capital request submissions, analysis of spend vs. budget, and compilation of monthly placed in-service accrual entry support. This will include follow up with project managers, and monthly reporting to Sr. Leadership. Will also assist in the development of the capital forecast / capital plan submissions.
•Assist in the review of Fleet Operations capital request submissions for completeness, and to ensure the costs included meet the fixed asset policy. Follow up with project managers to resolve any issues.
•Maintain and update monthly tracking for capital projects. Update actuals, commitments and changes to completion dates based on input from operations.
•Work with the Sr. Financial Analyst to analyze capital project spend vs. budget on a monthly basis and identify offsets for capital project overruns.
•When a project is completed, responsible for compiling the final project cost estimate and outstanding invoices for accrual. These are submitted monthly to the accounting team.
•Review and work with operations to submit amended capital project requests for projects with cost overruns in accordance with policy as needed.
•Assist the Sr. Financial Analyst to compile the capital expenditure forecast and plans, including related deliverables to for Sr. Leadership review.
•On-site finance representative at drydocks to track expenses and work with project managers on project budget. Note, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.
•Assist with special projects as required.
Requirements
•BS or BA in Accounting preferred. Degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent experience considered.
•2-3 years relevant experience in a position that required analysis and reporting financial results.
•Prior budgeting, cost management, and variance analysis experience
•Strong Microsoft Excel skills
•Good organizational and communication skills
•Self-starter with ability to interact well with all levels within the organization
•Ability to work flexible hours as needed to complete projects
•Willingness to travel domestic and international approximately 5%-10% of time.
