Job Description

Do you enjoy managing a portfolio of projects, along with mentoring and coaching others? If so, Grace has an opportunity for you to work at our Curtis Bay/Baltimore, MD manufacturing site.
We’re hiring a Capital Project Manager to support the business for end-to-end major capital project implementation and project results that achieve business objectives, while complying with standard work practices. You will partner with various stakeholders such as technology, maintenance, and operations to bring maximum value to the business through effective leadership of cost and capital project planning and implementation process. Additional responsibilities includes:
Responsibilities
- Translate business objectives into the capital project objectives
- Manage a portfolio of projects
- Ensures all non-capital alternatives to meet the business objectives have been evaluated
- Organizes and leads the capex projects you're assigned to by adhering to the project management life cycle by working with the Project Team members for acquiring and releasing project resources as needed during the life of the project, along with ensuring accurate execution of project cost and schedule
- Establishes effective communications within the Project Team to ensure alignment among business objectives, project objectives, and the basis of design
- Leads the development of the roles and responsibilities definitions for the project and ensure each functional team member understands their role and deliverables
- Manages overall project expenditures and schedule to meet business expectations
- Clearly sets overall Project Team direction and expectations
- Interface with plant and the Corporate Capital Project Leadership Team and the Business Capital Planning Manager
- Drives capital project work processes and practices as described in the Grace standards (GPM Manual)
- Ensures data is accurate and meets deadlines prior to initiating detailed design
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree, in chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Project Management in a manufacturing and/or petrochemical industry.
- Experience with project management software to control scope, schedule and budget.
- Self-managing, proactive
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent teamwork and ability to work across business functions
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
- Proficient in MS Project
- Experience utilizing the Front-end loading method of project development
