POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Properly operates ultrasound equipment in order to produce high quality diagnostic cardiac images.
- Demonstrates knowledge of thoracic anatomy and internal structural anatomy of the heart.
- Knows the basic principles of Echocardiography, such as M-Mode, 2-Dimensional and Doppler Ultrasound.
- Performs various leadership activities and behaviors.
- Complies with instructions from immediate supervisor and/designee.
- Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and University Health’s employees, patients, doctors and guests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Must have an Associate Degree as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, and possess one of the following Registries: RDCS-with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or RCS-with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Must have at least two years of Echocardiography experience.
- Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support
