We offer competitive wages starting at $18 / hr for caregivers and $19 / hr for med techs! Those are just our starting wages as we will pay more depending on experience!
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for Resident services and other duties as assigned, and the appropriate delegation of duties to the other staff and volunteers. Duties include personal services housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, delegated tasks, medication assistance, meal services, and other tasks as needed for Resident well-being.
REPORTS TO:HEALTH SERVICES DIRECTOR/DESIGNEE
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Resident.
- Receives and gives report from the previous shift.
- Reviews assignments with Designated Supervisor.
- Reads the staff communication records and maintains familiarity with Resident records as required.
- Assists with orientation of new staff to job responsibilities.
- Assists with instrumental activities of daily living, ADL’s, environmental orientation, assistance with other care while encouraging self-care and independence.
- Assists with setting up, serving meals, and cleaning up afterwards.
- Provides services as indicated on Resident service plans, including but not limited to bathing assistance, toileting assistance, transfer, and mobility assistance.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff, and visitors, including housekeeping services for Residents.
- Observes problems, concerns, and issues with Resident units, the building, and the grounds and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes changes in Resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes other problems and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes all work, safety, and administrative rules.
- Adheres to all established policies and procedures.
- Records Resident information as required..
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergency situations.
- Assists with individual Resident and group social recreational activities.
- Notifies nurse, and/or designated agent(s) of Resident status/change as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles in providing services.
- Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.
- Keeps all information confidential.
- Maintains acceptable attendance record/follows work schedule.
- Displays cleanliness, good grooming, personal appearance and follows dress requirements consistently.
- Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks; requires minimal supervision.
- Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action.
- Interacts in professional manner with Residents, public and co-workers. Works cooperatively with management. Displays willingness to assist co-workers when situation requires.
- Ability to communicate effectively with your peers
- Ability to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly.
- Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
- Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; 35 pounds regularly.
- Routinely requires pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
12– 24 months experience is preferred in a similar position (we will train the right one!). CPR/First Aid certified preferred, but we can also help you obtain these if not applicable to you.
EDUCATION:
Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred. Attendance at mandatory in-service training. Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification. Meet in-service training hours required for job classification and position.
