Category Manager, Procurement- New Product Development - Kennesaw, GA
Working within the Procurement department, to bring regional responsibility along with respective Global Category Managers, Procurement for executing tasks and sourcing, as well as maintaining materials, at the highest standard which support S&T, CD&D and our customers.
Main Responsibilities:
+ Regionally responsible, together with the respective GCM’s, for finding and sourcing raw materials which support S&T and CD&D in developing new products to meet our customers’ expectations
+ Regionally responsible, together with Strategic Procurement Development and Source to Contract, for defining the basis, implementing the tools and monitoring the observance of a streamlined RFQ process for H&W entities
+ Implement new processes/systems to support departmental goals and projects. Manage workflow, scheduling, tracking, change management, evaluating and ensuring all action-items are accomplished.
+ Raise, investigate and resolve supplier Non-conformances and material failures in the company’s best interest.
+ Manage selected spend/ dub- categories/ suppliers/ items based on the overarching purchasing strategy
+ Lead negotiations with suppliers and execute agreed contractual terms for non-core direct materials
+ Support the GCM with information to identify & manage projects to generate cost savings opportunities across the organization
+ Execute reporting tasks (e.g. Price movements; initiatives & savings tracking; etc) for the spend under management
+ Require & maintain material samples, as well as all related activities (e.g. raw material documentation, supplier questionnaires etc)
+ Support new material creation & elimination of old materials
+ Other administrative task such as internal claim management, master data maintenance (e.g. categorization, pricing, etc.)
Skills & Abilities:
+ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor degree in a technical field, economics or business administration
+ 3 year experience in purchasing (indirect/direct materials and services)
+ Experience in change management
+ Self- driven team player with strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills (collaboration across regions and functions, co-operation with external partners and suppliers)
+ Understanding of Procure- to Pay process, purchasing intelligence, able to set up priorities and manage aggressive assignments
+ Customer solution focused
+ Negotiation skills
+ Skilled in cost/benefit analysis and alternative decision making
