Hourly Rate - Min: $24.33 Max: $34.07
Responsible for coordination of the Medical Staff Services Department, including credentialing and re-credentialing, meeting management, and the flow of information from medical staff committees through the Medical Executive Committee to the Board of Trustees. Acts as a resource to the Medical Staff regarding Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and all accompanying manuals. Performs executive secretary functions for elected Medical Staff officers and chairs. Responsible for DNV/NIAHO survey preparation for the Medical Staff functions. Works closely with Medical Staff leaders and hospital Administration.

B. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND TRAITS:
Light indoor work. Reaching, bending and handling are necessary to operate various office equipment and perform general office duties. A moderate amount of stress is imposed because of the requirement in meeting time deadlines, frequent interruptions, multiple demands and multitasking. Prioritizing and re-prioritizing is necessary, as well as strong customer relations skills. Accuracy and thoroughness of work is expected at all times. Must be able to interact well with physicians and meet their demands in a professional manner.

Self-motivated, dependable, neatly groomed, personable and well-organized.
Qualifications:
A. EDUCATION:
Requires graduation from high school with courses in office practices, including word processing. Supplemental course work in business administration, health care and medical terminology highly desirable. Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) is desirable, but not required.
B. EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) years experience in a health care setting. Experience must include interacting with physicians, taking minutes and maintaining files. Must be able to manage software and database programs. Some experience in performance improvement activities, tools and techniques.
C. LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS:
Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS). Affiliation with NAMSS and the Oregon Association of Medical Staff Services (OAMSS) is strongly recommended.
D. OTHER:
Medical terminology required. Prefer bilingual or multilingual skills.
