Job Responsibilities - you knew they were coming!
- Provides personal care to patients, including bathing and other care tasks
- Assists patients in eating and taking medications
- Monitors vitals
- Assesses patient behavior and reports any major changes or concerns to the care team
- Supports patients with mobility, including transferring to/from bed, wheelchair, etc.
- Requires ability to adjust patients in their bed to prevent pressure sores and promote comfort
- Set priorities, coordinate, and organize patient care through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources
- Maintain patient records as needed
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other members of the patient's care team
Skills and Qualifications - we know you have them!
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
- Currently licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Home health and hospice experience as a CNA preferred
- Ability to utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable automobile
- Proof of current automobile insurance
- Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance
- Current CPR certification
- Negative TB test
Physical Requirements - to uplift others!
Requires considerable physical effort most of the day including kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, climbing, walking, exposure to temperature and humidity changes and maximal assist in lifting and/or transferring of a 100-pound patient. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet essential duties of this position.
Mental Requirements - you've got this!
Must be able to work independently, make judgments based on assessments and data available and act accordingly. Must be flexible, innovative and possess good interpersonal skills. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress and demonstrate emotional stability.
Working Environment - it's a change in scenery!
Works primarily in patient homes/care facilities with some work being completed in office; travel to and from patients is required. You must be able to tolerate exposure to several elements, including but not limited to the following: odors, blood, body fluids and excrements, adverse environmental conditions and hazardous materials.
