Description:
We are looking to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant. Under the supervision of the Health Services Coordinator and Principal, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for performing direct student care and student care related activities, including, but not limited to diapering, toileting, dressing and feeding. CNAs are primarily responsible for student safety, direct and indirect student care and should actively facilitate the student’s learning by reinforcing educational objectives. This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Assists with student health and hygiene needs as required, including administering basic first aid, diapering, toileting, dressing and feeding.
- Collaborates with student’s school nurse, teacher, and therapists to help provide the optimal educational experience for the student.
- Maintains confidentiality of student records and assists with health compliancy.
- Effectively communicates with the student, supervising nurse, classroom teacher, co-workers, and others.
- Implement instructional plans as determined by licensed teachers and therapists.
- Observe, document and reinforce appropriate student behaviors; communicate activities to teacher and facilitators.
- Assist with non-instructional activities.
- Follows established policies and procedures regarding safely managing, operating, and cleaning equipment.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Assistant Program from an accredited educational institution
- Holds and maintains current CPR/AED certification
- Graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program
