JOB SUMMARY:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant directs patient care as directed by a Occupational Therapist and participates in efficient, cost effective planning, and operation of the Occupational Therapy Department.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting required.
2. Ohio License required.
3. Two years of Occupational Therapy Assisting experience preferred, but new graduates are accepted.
CUSTOMER SERVICE/TEAMWORK FOCUS:
1. Cooperates well with other staff and management personnel.
2. Must have flexibility in accepting varied hours and shifts according to the needs of the department.
3. Balances the need to complete individual work with overall team, department, or hospital needs and goals.
4. Demonstrates a commitment to meeting patients’ needs and expectations.
5. Projects a professional appearance at all times.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Delivers treatment based on initial assessment by an Occupational Therapist.
- Provides feedback to the supervising Occupational Therapist based on the patient’s progress.
- Interacts with other disciplines when necessary to meet patient needs.
- Provides education to promote knowledge and skills needed to meet the patient’s needs.
- Maintains current documentation standards.
- Participates in the discharge process with patient, family and other disciplines as necessary.
- Accepts and performs other duties as assigned.
