Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. In this full-time role, you will work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists to provide hands-on patient care, assist in implementing individualized treatment plans, and contribute to optimal recovery outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients needs.
Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Provide direct patient care through therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and modalities.
Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes and concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols, home exercises, and strategies for daily living.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and maintain accurate documentation.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Current state license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of rehabilitation techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
