Fellowship House is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) to join our Multi-Disciplinary Re-Entry Services Team. This position involves providing peer support, advocacy, and resources to individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community.
The Multi-Disciplinary Re-entry Services Team (MRST), established in collaboration with the Florida Department of Corrections and South Florida Behavioral Health Network (SFBHN), will provide case management and re-entry transition services in both pre and post release settings to 30 individuals with identified post-release mental health needs and/or a co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Services, which aim to reduce recidivism, include but are not limited assessment, case management and care coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one peer support and mentorship to individuals in re-entry and recovery.
- Collaborate with MRST staff to provide comprehensive support to MRST members.
Requirements:
- Must have a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist, a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (Provisional) credential through the Florida Certification Board OR be able to successfully obtain a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (Provisional) credential within 90 days of hire.
- CRPS-P Requirements include:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree. High School Diplomas or General Equivalence Degrees must be eligible for acceptance by colleges or universities holding nationally recognized accreditation through the United States Department of Education and/or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Lived Experience Endorsements - Lived experience is a foundation of peer-to-peer support services. As such, CRPS applicants must attest to at least one of the lived-experience endorsements at the time of application. Available endorsements are:
- Adult (A): Lived experience as an adult in recovery for a minimum of 2-years from a mental health and/or substance use condition.
- Family (F): Lived experience as a family member or caregiver to another person who is living with a mental health and/or substance use condition.
- Veteran (V): Lived experience as a veteran of any branch of the armed forces who is in recovery for a minimum of 2-years from a mental health and/or substance use condition.
- Youth (Y): Are between the ages of 18 and 29 at the time of application and have lived experience as a person who, between the ages of 14 and 25 experienced a significant life challenge and is now living a wellness and/or recovery-oriented lifestyle for at least two years.
- Completion of Florida Certification Board CRPS approved 40-hour training program.
- Passing score on the Certified Recovery Peer Specialist Exam
