About the Job
TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for a Certified Weld Inspectors in Decatur, Texas. This is a short term project and open to 1099 contractors. This role has per-diem and pay is around $50hr.
Overall Purpose
The Certified Weld Inspector ensures the products meet specifications and quality standards according to blueprints, knowledge of welding, and metallurgy. The Weld Inspector is responsible for inspecting and assessing the strength and quality of welds, ensuring the correct equipment is being used, checking weld specifications, and ensuring all safety regulations are being adhered to.

Responsibilities
(To include but not limited to the following)
Customer Relationship & Business Development
· Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to address non-conformances
Operations
· Produce relevant field quality inspection reports and provide quality metrics
· Discuss and explain procedures and regulations or need for corrective action with appropriate personnel
· Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination, and/or testing results
· Perform quality inspections on work currently performed or work that has been recently completed utilizing established checklists and/or other quality related documents
· Ensure project permitting requirements are followed including pre and post-project notifications
· Recommend updates/revisions to policies and procedures based on field observations where procedures may not be followed because they are unclear, incorrect, or non-existent
· Measure dimensions, materials, products, installations or work for conformance to specifications
Technical
· Ensure that all documentation including specifications, blueprints and applicable tools, gages and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable
· Participate in audits of processes, procedures and work areas
· Move parts and materials to designate locations in accordance with normal material flow procedures
· Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized
· Perform related duties as required within the scope and skill level of this job function

· Communicate results to managers, supervisors and production source

Knowledge, skills, abilities
Hard skills Values & attitudes
· Working knowledge of wire and filler
materials applications for various
steel alloys, aluminum, and some
exotic materials.
· Preferred: working knowledge and
experience with D1.1, D1.2, D14.1,
D1.6 and D17.1.
· Advanced knowledge of GTAW,
FCAW, GMAW, and SAW welding
techniques.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Read work instructions and/or
drawings to interpret and confirm
production and/or assembly
information.

Work experience
Overall recommendations
· At least 3 year of manufacturing
experience and must have a current CWI certification.
· Must have High-School Diploma
Education background

· Minimum requirement is a high school
diploma or GED.
· College level or trade school
education preferred.
