The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a business partner to the Chief Executive Officer, the executive leadership team, and the Board of Directors/Audit Committee. The CFO will have oversight and leadership of control, treasury, tax, investor relations, M&A, real estate, and business unit finance. It is vital that the CFO be collaborative in developing and implementing financial strategies, partnering with the business lines and owning results alongside the executive leadership team. In partnership with the CEO and the leadership team, he/she will lead the growth strategies including M&A and other strategic transactions that drive shareholder return. The CFO must operate with the utmost integrity, bring influential and effective interpersonal skills, possess refined emotional intelligence, and have an impressive history of team leadership.

What you'll do
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a business partner to the Chief Executive Officer, the executive leadership team, and the Board of Directors/Audit Committee. In partnership with the CEO and the leadership team, he/she will lead the growth strategies including M&A and other strategic transactions that drive shareholder return. - Developing and strengthening the operational capability of the organization and business units by driving performance, accountability, and reliable performance results that support the business strategies.
- Being a partner to the CEO while providing insight and counsel relative to all areas of strategic planning, growth and financial leadership with an operational mindset.
- Establishing a strong working relationship with the Board of Directors, particularly with the Audit Committee.
- Overseeing all financial management issues for the company. These include financial planning, budgeting, corporate tax matters, investments, internal audit, strategic financial analyses, valuation of assets, M&A, et al., as well as functional leadership for business accounting and financial reporting functions.
- Communicating all financial matters and issues with senior management and the Board; responsibility for working closely with banking partners and Wall Street to ensure financial credibility with the investment community and continuing access to capital.
- Direct involvement with the Presidents/GMs for budget preparation, forecasting and analysis. This process should culminate in a blueprint for achieving overall strategic and operational objectives of the company.
- Embedding a culture of integrity, ethics and transparency. Earn the respect of his or her peers, subordinates, and superiors for his or her integrity, ethics, moral compass, and ability to set a standard for their leadership to follow.
- Ensuring corporate-wide compliance of all FASB, GAAP, and other standards, regulatory requirements and government reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC requirements.
- Building and maintaining a best-in-class finance team at the corporate and business unit operating level of the company.
- Building a culture that embeds and shares in best practices, including company-wide, continuous improvement initiatives.
What we need
The experienced public-company CFO or highly qualified candidate with demonstrated success in a business unit financial leadership capacity will be a broadly qualified and highly talented financial executive with extensive finance/operations experience in a well respected, complex, industrial corporation. The successful candidate will exude confidence, possess a positive ego and collaborative/transparent, but urgent, working style. He/she will also be self-directed and able to lead significant initiatives, as required to realize the business strategy.
Additional attributes include:
- The candidate will have a proven track record of performance as a Corporate CFO of a public manufacturing company. The candidate could also be the CFO for a smaller-cap business or a divisional CFO of a large cap company, as long as they bring senior financial executive experience and the requisite financial breadth.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance or related technical field is required. An MBA is preferred, CPA is a plus.
- Experience and credibility working with the Finance and/or Audit Committees of a Board of Directors.
- Capital markets experience is important, as is Wall Street acceptance/reputation for excellence.
- Experience working with investment bankers and outside service providers in formulating, analyzing and executing investment strategies, including, M&A and divestitures.
- Depth in integration and monetization of strategic transactions.
- Strong partnership abilities and experience working with various colleagues and groups within the organization to achieve success, with a low ego, team first mentality.
- The candidate will possess strategic agility and the ability to focus on both quarterly results and long-term strategy. A continuous focus on business development is expected.
- The candidate will have proven success driving results, while being mindful of productivity optimization.
- The candidate will have a demonstrated track record of leadership, team building, and culture development. Experience in developing talent/succession plans that align with business strategies is a must.
- The candidate will possess strong communication skills.
- The candidate will have had experience working in a variety of financial and/or operating assignments in which he or she has been responsible for executing bestin-class disciplines to optimize business results.
- He/She should be willing and capable of assuming positions of greater leadership responsibilities.
