About the Job
As CFO, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a respected organization and a committed team. The CFO is responsible for the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the financial operation of company, including healthcare billing and contracting, accounts payable, payroll, and reporting. The CFO is also responsible for the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the information technology department, which includes supervision of in-house information technology staff and monitoring of external vendor relationships, working collaboratively across departments, and assuring that the information technology infrastructure supports the organization's goals. In this role you will work directly with the CEO to accomplish strategies, targets, and goals; lead a comprehensive budget preparation process, prepare productivity and revenue data for health center management, manage assets and investment strategies, lead the annual audit process, and provide financial reporting and insights for the Board of Directors.
The CFO is an important part of the executive team. As such, you will be expected to contribute in many areas, including helping to establish and implement strategic plans, working on new initiatives, providing good leadership, mentoring, and coaching to staff, and participating in the development of strong strategic partnering relationships.
This position will report directly to the CEO/President.
Responsibilities:
•Monitors the financial performance of the organization
• Directs and controls comprehensive budget preparations and cost data; develops clear and informative methods and technology to present financial data.
• Plans and conducts meetings, education and other interactions with staff to facilitate compliance with established practices, to implement new policies and to keep employees aware of changes and current standards.
• Leads the successful annual and monthly close processes; responsible for oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, capital planning and monthly reporting.
• Responsible for preparation of forecasts, data analysis to support decisions about starting or discontinuing services, annual preparation of the budget, preparation of the audit, the preparation and filing of the IRS form 990
• Part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make processes more efficient and accurate
• Responsible for the oversight of billing multiple payers and assures confidential and ethical billing and collection practices that comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Assures that accurate financial and statistical reports are compiled and presented on a timely basis
• Evaluates and recommends changes needed to maintain an efficient and updated financial system
• Assures compliance with all reporting regulations of both governmental and private funding sources
• Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial procedures and policies
• Responsible for oversight of the IT department, including capital projects, strategic planning, and ongoing support functions
• Provide financial presentations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors
Job Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, or related business field; MBA preferred
• 8+ years' experience including a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
• Business savvy with a strong grasp of health care, billing and contracting
• Experience in the oversight of information technology
• Nonprofit experience is a plus, health care experience is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated abilities in multi-faceted agency budget construction, financial model construction and related analytical reporting
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate financial issues and concepts to both financially minded persons and all others within and outside of the organization
• Demonstrated success managing revenue and maintaining effective systems of internal control
• Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with outside financial concerns such as banks, lending institutions, and contributors
• Ability to work independently and perform multiple concurrent and diversified tasks
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate efforts across an organization to get results
• Strong leader and educator who is trustworthy, willing to share information and serve as a mentor
