Job Summary
YGS is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven executive for a combined Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Office (COO) role. This position will be pivotal in leading mission impact, financial, operational, and strategic initiatives, supporting the CEO, and overseeing the day-to-day management of accounting, finance, procurement, IT, and multi-branch operations. The role involves community engagement, strategic planning, change management, and effective communication across all organizational levels. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with high integrity, adept at financial strategy and operational excellence, and capable of driving mission impact, organizational growth, and community engagement. The position is based in Seattle, WA, with 15-30% travel required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with 2-3 days a week in office. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Hiring Range: $290,000 - $330,000/year
Responsibilities:- Partner with the senior leadership team to guide the organization’s future through strategic organizational design, culture enhancement, innovation, process improvement, and comprehensive financial and operational oversight.
- Supervise, lead, and retain a diverse team responsible for managing one of the largest YMCA operating budgets in the U.S.
- Develop and execute financial, Procurement, Operations, and IT strategies that align with and support YGS’s vison, mission, and strategic direction.
- Create and implement an integrated IT/Technology strategy to drive YGS’s next-generation operations.
- Drive fiscal responsibilty and operational growth across all branches and support systems by fostering a community- and mission-focused, achievement-oriented environment.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation by introducing new program, activities,, branch developments, and IT system enhancements.
- Guide and develop senior operations staff in creating effective operating plans while ensuring compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
- Establish annual performance goals and operating budgets, ensuring alignment across branches and monitoring financial reports to meet mission objectives and revenue targets and control expenses.
- Oversee operations at branch facilities and associated program sites and ensure all YGS locations are safe, vibrant, welcoming, well-maintained, and meet YGS, Y-USA, and Department of Health standards and all laws and standards.
- Present to various committees, elected officials, funders, stakeholders, and the Board of Directors as needed.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to fundraise and meet YGS’s annual financial targets and objectives.
- Act as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisor to the CEO, providing interim leadership during planned and unplanned absences.
- Work with the CEO and senior leadership team to develop and implement the strategic plan, focusing on organizational design, culture, innovation, and financial oversight.
- Lead the implementation of the "One Y, One Mission, One Team" realignment across all branches and departments, ensuring cohesive operation and collaboration.
- Manage and support branch and district teams in executing the strategic plan and operational priorities, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Head of Risk Management to mitigate risk through robust health and safety programs, compliance, and effective insurance management.
- Monitor programmatic and financial performance and manage budgets and forecasts to ensure goals are met and expenses are managed to achieve approved budgets and goals.
- Foster operational growth and a sense of belonging across branches and programs, supporting a community-oriented approach.
- Encourage innovation in programs, community activities, pricing strategies, member recruitment and retention, and new site development.
- Promote a positive work culture rooted in equity and justice for all , inspiring strong employee engagement and organizational success.
- Prepare presentations and updates for internal and external audiences, including the Board of Directors, and support the following board committees: executive, finance, insurance, and investment.
- Support and inspire participation in annual, capital, and planned giving campaigns to meet financial and organizational goals.
