About the Job
A social welfare organization in Brooklyn is currently seeking a clinician to join their team as their new child life specialist. In this role, the child life specialist would work with children and their families while they are at a 24-hour crisis center assessing the next steps and resources they will need. The center is brand new and fully funded, just in need of the right team!
About the opportunity:
Schedule: Flexible - can be Monday through Friday, or Tuesday through Saturday, or Sunday through Thursday
Hours: Business hours with some flexibility with start time/end time

Responsibilities:
The Child Life Specialist will:
- Provide crisis intervention to children and parents
- Support families in their child care efforts, both in structured and unstructured interaction
- Complete all progress notes, treatment planning, written assessments, and other required documentation
- Help the child/ family get ready for tests or procedures (Medical/Mental Health).
- Coordinate with the crisis team on next steps for the family
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
Desired Skills:
- LMSW, LCSW, LMFT
- Masters required
- Experience with child welfare, foster care, or family crisis intervention
- Experience with substance abuse, mental health issues, etc.
- Other duties, as needed
Desired Skills:
- Spanish a plus, but not required
