Position Objective
To provide assistance with establishing paternity and establishing and enforcing court orders pertaining to child support. This position is responsible for interviewing and locating non-custodial parents and monitoring documents to ensure compliance with court orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Gathers, analyzes and interprets legal, financial, and confidential information related to paternity and makes recommendations based on legal and procedural authorities to ensure that an appropriate court order is established and enforced.
2. Recommends payment obligations based upon research of available information such as employment information or income via electronic interface, written and verbal communications to ensure accurate and legal enforcement actions.
3. Initiates legal actions in other states, countries and tribal nations to obtain and enforce child support orders.
4. Prepares a variety of legal documents appropriate to determine and establish child support to facilitate accurate and legal support orders.
5. Determines the appropriate service of process method and Process Server for pleadings to ensure proper service within mandated service time frames. Monitors for acceptance of judicial documents and follows timelines to make subsequent filings as necessary.
6. Testifies and participates as a witness in Court to the facts of a case and participates in negotiating agreements between parties in consultation with the County Attorney’s Office.
7. Identifies and ensures safeguarding of client information based on safety concern indicators and ensures client system of record is complete.
8. Establishes and enforces collection efforts of court orders for the collection of basic, medical, childcare, and past support.
9. Assesses and enforces court orders, monitoring and requesting County Attorney’s Office approval if an enforcement remedy or legal action is appropriate to promote compliance.
10. Attends work regularly and in a timely manner.
11. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
