Position Summary
Our client, a respected civil engineering firm with over 25 years of experience, seeks a skilled Civil Engineer to join their Indianapolis team. This role involves direct civil design responsibilities for roadway, grading, drainage, utility, and site development projects across Indiana. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and communication skills and demonstrate commitment to high standards in engineering and safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform civil design for transportation and site development projects, including roadway, grading, drainage, and utility systems.
- Prepare engineering documentation, including construction specifications, project plans, and schedules.
- Calculate project costs, covering labor, materials, and related expenses.
- Work closely with project teams, government agencies, and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Monitor project progress to confirm adherence to construction specifications, safety standards, and budget.
- Conduct site inspections to verify project accuracy and compliance with engineering calculations and standards.
- Utilize time efficiently, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (B.S. Civil Engineering required)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in civil engineering design projects
- EIT or PE licensure preferred
- Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation recommended
