Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Director with extensive experience in the construction of wastewater treatment plants to lead our team in Boise, Idaho.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of proven expertise in civil engineering and project management, specifically in the design, construction, and commissioning of wastewater treatment facilities.
As the Civil Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, budgetary constraints, and quality requirements.
This role requires strong leadership, technical proficiency, and strategic vision to drive successful outcomes in the wastewater infrastructure sector.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the civil engineering team, overseeing the planning, design, and construction of wastewater treatment plants in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
2. Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to understand project objectives, address concerns, and ensure alignment with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
3. Lead the development of project proposals, feasibility studies, and engineering designs, incorporating innovative solutions to optimize plant performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
4. Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
5. Supervise and mentor engineering staff, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster a culture of excellence and teamwork.
6. Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality assessments to ensure adherence to design specifications, construction standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to procure materials, equipment, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner, negotiating contracts and resolving disputes as needed.
8. Serve as a liaison between the project team, client representatives, and regulatory agencies, facilitating communication, resolving issues, and maintaining positive relationships to support project success.
9. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting wastewater treatment plant design and construction, integrating relevant advancements into project strategies and methodologies.
10. Prepare and present project updates, status reports, and technical presentations to internal stakeholders, clients, and community groups, demonstrating transparency, accountability, and professionalism in all communications.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
2. Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Idaho or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
3. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on wastewater treatment plant construction and infrastructure projects.
4. Strong technical expertise in hydraulic engineering, water treatment processes, and environmental regulations applicable to wastewater treatment facilities.
5. Proven track record of successful project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, with a keen attention to detail and quality assurance.
6. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams to achieve common goals and objectives.
7. Proficiency in engineering software applications, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools.
8. Familiarity with construction management principles, contract administration, and procurement processes related to infrastructure projects.
9. Demonstrated commitment to safety, sustainability, and ethical conduct in all aspects of engineering practice.
10. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport, build trust, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in a dynamic work environment.
