SCHEDULE: MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 7AM TO 4PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Specific duties and responsibilities will vary as required by the department.
- Supports team by scheduling appointments from phone calls and during checkouts and recalls.
- Assists in providing information for appealed claims.
- Responsible for processing urgent referrals.
- Responds to requests from 3rd parties for further information, documentation, clarification (attorneys, claims managers, etc.).
- Processes paperwork for FMLA, ADA, and Workers Compensation for patients.
- Responsible for processing prior authorizations for prescriptions.
- Answers incoming calls and is the primary contact to answer questions from the Patient Service Center.
- Receives incoming faxes for the team and distributes to assigned clinical staff.
- Follows patient referrals.
- Gathers and locates patient records.
- Processes and addresses non clinical errors within EPIC.
- Maintains non-pharmaceutical supplies in rooms, orders these supplies as needed, and monitors non pharmaceutical supply expiration dates.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Detail oriented and ability to multi-task effectively.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of computers and basic software programs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years' experience in healthcare environment providing customer service and/or administrative duties strongly preferred.
- Prefer those with Epic EHR experience.
Pay Range:
$17.80 - $24.91

PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
