Job Summary:
The Clinic Manager, RN is responsible for overseeing the clinical case management operations of the clinical department. This leadership role focuses on improving patient care quality, managing nursing staff, developing networks, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The Clinic Manager collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to enhance clinical outcomes and optimize workflow efficiency, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Nursing Case Management department, ensuring that goals and performance standards are met.
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, ongoing development, network development, and assignment of work/projects.
- Delegate and coordinate tasks and duties in the operations of the department among the nursing staff and ensures efficiency.
- Ensures nursing staff provide appropriate and complete documentation in all patient records and in all provider/nurse communications.
- Supervises and evaluates care coordination and directs the case management staff to modify plans as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with executives and assist in staff training for safety and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with ECM Lead Care Managers via phone or in-person assessment for assessment and care plan development.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to promote communication and team cohesion.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
- Utilize medical interventions to enhance members' self-management of health.
- Provide training for ECM Lead Care Managers on medical conditions and treatments.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to support members' comprehensive care.
- Coordinate clinical care for ECM Program members, establish care plan goals, and monitor services needed by members.
- Oversee care plan implementation and monitor treatment adherence.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, report audits, and ensure compliance with regulations and assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license from an accredited nursing school.
- Master's degree in Nursing required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- 1-2 years of case management experience with low-income populations, focusing on complex chronic conditions, mental illness, and homelessness preferred.
- Experience with homeless, low-income, and mentally ill populations, including substance abuse preferred.
- Experience in Medicare and Medi-Cal environments preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and evidence-based guidelines.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire nursing staff to achieve high performance and patient satisfaction.
- Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgement in identifying challenges and implementing innovative solutions in clinical settings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate collaboration with healthcare teams, members, and families.
- Exceptional time management and organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and oversee multiple projects efficiently.
- Capability to analyze clinical data and outcomes to drive improvements in patient care and operational processes, while acting ethically and in compliance with regulations.
- Strong relationship-building skills to engage with diverse teams and support patient-centered care.
- Understanding of budgeting and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of clinical resources.
- Competence in electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare technology applications.
- Adaptability to changing healthcare environments and patient needs while ensuring high-quality care and empathy.
Travel:
- Must be able to travel to network and develop relationships with hospitals, clinics, etc. about company offerings.
- Mileage reimbursement for the use of your vehicle is at a standard rate.
- Must have a valid California Driver's license and valid automobile insurance.

Physical Requirements:
- This role is fully in-office at our Kearny Mesa location in San Diego.
- Willingness to travel to different locations.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
