SUMMARY:
- Leads business or clinical applications implementation projects related to design, development, and optimization for all types of electronic health records (EHR) integration including Epic and ancillary systems, and non-EHR integration between other types of business and clinical applications. Coordinates cross-functional teams and resources throughout Information Services (IS) and Sutter Health and its affiliates required to implement, and support IS projects. Collaborates across Sutter Health and its affiliates to provide support and training as well as participate in goals and objectives planning and prioritization related to IS applications

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Implementation:
- Participate in and implement complex upgrades to production applications
- Collaborate with business and clinical operations to develop requirements, design and configure solutions to align with business needs of Sutter Health
- Provides standardization direction for the product aligning with current technologies
- Coordinate and facilitate work with members of IS teams, project teams, affiliate teams, and vendor representatives to implement solutions to projects and problems
- Coordinate and communicate with various levels of management and staff including business, clinical, and IS departments while assisting with technical aspects of routine product implementation, rollout, and support
- Contribute to and lead application activation planning including the detailed assessment of impact from rollout decisions
- Obtain and document software design change or enhancement specifications for major, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects
- Participate in and lead the installation and configuration of applications
- Analyze highly complex new requirements and enhancements to applications as well as prepare specifications, documentation, and recommendations
- Assess and recommend new product features and integration with applications
- Perform highly complex data analysis, design specifications, and documentation
- Develop high level designs and solutions for development
- Configure complex integration solutions as well as map data elements between applications
- Prepare specifications and clear, concise, and accurate validation documents
- Recommend and implement architectural set up ensuring optimization of hardware and software and future growth needs
- Communicate technical information to end-users of all levels of technical expertise
- Participate in and implement complex upgrades and application optimizations to production applications
- Consult with clients and vendors to identify and resolve complex problems
- Ensure final resolution of incidents and problems while recommending long-term solutions
- Recommend testing scripts to improve quality for all phases of testing in assigned areas
- Communicate the status of key issues on a regular basis as well as communicate incidents and problems to key stakeholders
- Serve as the subject matter expert to other personnel on assigned applications including the creation and delivery of formal trainings and presentations
- Maintain expert knowledge in the application’s design and use as well as continue to increase knowledge as the product functionality is changed or enhanced
- Stay informed of industry trends, changes, and standards as well as apply knowledge to areas of expertise
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
- Doctorate: Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy program or equivalent education/experience
- PHARMD-Licensed Pharmacist
- 3 years recent relevant experience
- Working knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7)
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards with an emphasis on supporting business requirements
- Working knowledge of healthcare operations and structure
- In-depth knowledge of the lifecycle of application environments
- Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
- Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify patterns, tendencies, and relationships resulting in the formulation of logical and objective conclusions
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with audiences across all areas and levels within Sutter Health as well as external organizations
- Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts
