Clinical Consultant - Intellectual Disabilities (PA Resident) - A-Line Staffing Solutions

Job Title: Location: Clinical Consultant – Intellectual Disabilities (Remote, some travel required)

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM
Travel requirements: Travel within the assigned regions approximately 1-2 times per month. There will also be Statewide travel required approximately 3-5 times per year. Travel for team meetings in the field may also be required.

Service Area includes the following counties: Berks, Bradford/Sullivan, Carbon/Monroe/Pike, Lehigh, Luzerne/Wyoming, Northampton, Schuylkill, Susquehanna/Lackawanna, Tioga, Wayne

Compensation: $89,440 annually

Overview:
The role of a Clinical Consultant focuses on helping individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges live successfully in community settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing Guidance: Clinical Consultant will offer advice to providers, mental health organizations, and other groups to ensure they’re using the best practices and considering the right treatments for people with both intellectual disabilities and mental health issues.
• Transition Support: Clinical Consultant will help individuals transition into community settings or remain there by supporting their care teams with plans, especially for those with challenging behaviors or mental health concerns.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Review monthly reports and incidents related to individuals' behavior to identify those at risk and offer suggestions to prevent future problems. Create reports for quality management teams.
• Risk Management: Work on plans to minimize risks, like behavioral incidents, by collaborating with the person’s care team and offering strategies to reduce harmful actions like restraints.
• Training and Resources: Design and offer training to help caregivers and professionals better support people with disabilities and mental health issues. Track available community resources and connect teams to the right services.
• Fieldwork: Involve visiting individuals and their support teams to participate in person, ensuring that care plans are being followed and providing hands-on support when needed.
• Collaboration and Knowledge: Work closely with other experts, stay updated on best practices, and inform policies to ensure that services are aligned with current trends and research in mental health and intellectual disabilities.
• Additional Tasks: Participate in various committee meetings, support quality and risk management efforts, and assist with other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in human services (psychology, nursing, social work, or a related field) and at least six years of experience working with children or individuals of all ages who have intellectual disabilities and autism (IDA) along with mental health issues, challenging behaviors, or problematic sexual behaviors.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills in English
• Familiarity with Pennsylvania’s Positive Practices/Approaches and the Recovery Model frameworks for supporting individuals.
• Experience collaborating with different stakeholders (like providers, health care quality units, and community organizations) to support individuals with both intellectual disabilities and mental illness.
• Experience analyzing data related to quality and risk management to identify opportunities for improvement in care and services.
• Intermediate computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• The ability to travel and spend time in the field is essential for this role.
