Job Description
Location: Baltimore Washington Medical Center
General Summary
The Patient Care Clinician Dietitian provides clinical nutritional care to patients, which includes screening, assessing, and reassessing patient’s needs; developing the plan for nutrition therapy; monitoring patient’s acceptance to meal and the effectiveness of nutritional intervention; counseling patients and families on diets and coordinating the nutritional care with the Patient Care Team, medical staff, and the Support Care Team. Patients served include all age groups (infant, child, adolescent, adult, adult-geriatric).

Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Assistant Director. Independent effort with limited direct supervision.
Qualifications- Education: B.S. in Dietetics, or its equivalent required. Possesses current Maryland State licensure or is eligible.
- Experience: Previous experience in acute Health care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows or successful completion of a hospital training program required.
Working Conditions
- Works inside in a clean, well-lighted environment.
- May be exposed to frequent interruptions, variability in case load and multiple demands.
- May be physically and verbally abused by patients.
- Expected to work on rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as necessary. Expected to work in other than regular area to provide adequate staffing if the need arises.
- Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials, requiring the observance of Standard (Universal) Precautions and safe handling practices.
