POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Director of the CSU has responsibility for oversight of the CSU program. This includes broad oversight of the clinical functions of the program, the programmatic components, the budget (under the guidance of the Director of Programs, COO, & CEO). The CSU Director provides clinical oversight & guidance of all clinical & program staff employed in the CSUs. The Director is responsible for the provision of clinical services to clients, general program oversight, program development, service delivery, & marketing of the service. The Director participates in actively promoting the CSU & Wellspring in general through participation in assigned meetings with community partners & other associated entities across the state.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a Licensed Mental Health Provider as defined by 201 KAR 34:060 (“Board-approved qualified mental health professional" means a licensed marriage & family therapist, licensed psychologist, licensed psychiatrist, licensed professional clinical counselor, or licensed clinical social worker”. A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or mental health counseling is a pre-requisite for licensure. Professional designations include: LCSW, LPCC, Psychologist, LMFT).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years working in the mental health field and experience in the area of severe mental illness is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
- Supervisory responsibility for the safety, support and wellbeing of clients.
- Has clinical oversight for assigned program.
- Provides clinical services to clients (assessment, Individual & group therapy)
- Practices client advocacy and interventions in accordance with the Wellspring Code of Ethics and the clinician’s profession specific code of ethics.
- Provides clinical supervision to the program staff, as assigned
- Implements appropriate program components to address client needs and treatment goals.
- Provides and documents individual and group therapy.
- Represents the agency as needed and assigned with community partners and associated entities.
- Collaborates with the Director of Programs to stay current in best practices in the field, including Person Centered Planning, Housing First, and Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.
- Provides ongoing support and crisis intervention services.
- Develops client centered treatment plans in collaboration with clients and staff.
- Communicates treatment goals to the “team”.
- Administers client assessment tools (BPRS, Client Experiences Questionnaire (CEQ) or other quality of life tools).
- Facilitates therapy groups.
- Provides individual therapy.
- Identifies needs and provides, coordinates or refers for case management services.
- Screens and/or interviews clients referred for admission.
- Chairs regular staff/treatment team meetings.
- Collaborates with other agencies on shared clients & ensures that Wellspring, the client and other providers are working together to help clients achieve their goals.
- Participates in bi-monthly Clinical Care Committee meetings.
- Participates in clinical on-call rotation.
- Attends agency-wide General Staff meetings.
- Meets documentation deadlines for services.
- Gathers, tracks & assesses identified outcomes & performs quarterly & annual reviews in conjunction with the team & Director of Programs.
- Recommends and implements program adaptations based on client and staff feedback and outcomes results.
- Represents agency and program as needed across the community/state.
- Attends regular supervision with Program Director.
