- JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
- In collaboration with clinical specialty and site leadership, staff, and Professional Development, designs, plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates clinical education programs to advance the Samaritan Health Services (SHS) healthcare teams’ clinical practice within designated clinical department(s). Supports system processes at the department level for staff orientation, competency assessment and development, ongoing education, implementation of best practices, culture of safety, development of policies and procedures, and use of the electronic health record.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
- The Emergency Department provides care for patients with a wide variety of needs from non-critical to emergent medical conditions including emergent and urgent mental health care. All patients are welcome whether walking in or arriving by emergency transport. All Emergency Department staff are certified to care for critical cardiac and trauma patients including children.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- Three (3) years of direct care nursing experience in applicable specialty required.
- Certification in applicable specialty within one (1) year of hire required.
- If appropriate, ACLS, PALS, and/or other life support certifications applicable to clinical practice area required within six (6) months of hire.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, preferred.
- Board certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred.
- GSR Emergency:
Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required due to the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements for moderate complexity testing.
