Summary:
Provides pharmaceutical care for patients in a specialty clinical area. Supports professional development of clinical pharmacists, students and/or residents.
Responsibilities:
Develops and completes residency research project and other longitudinal assignments. Presents at professional conference(s) as directed.Participates in teaching activities such as formal educational presentation(s), journal club(s), staff development, and other multidisciplinary programs.Meets with Residency Program Director or designee as needed to evaluate progress and ensure program expectations are met . Meets with preceptors or designee for education and evaluation of rotation goals and objectives.Interacts with physicians, nurses and other healthcare workers through inter-disciplinary rounds and collaboration to provide patient care. Employs professional responsibility and appropriate communication skills when interacting with patients, pharmacy team members, and healthcare practitioners.Acts as a preceptor in training and mentor for pharmacy students and PGY1 residents. Works in concert with the Residency Program Director and preceptors to enhance the residency experience for future residents.Provides clinical and operational pharmacy services as a pharmacist consistent with departmental policy and procedure.

Accredited Program: Postgraduate Year One (Required), Doctorate: Advanced Degree in Pharmacy - Doctor of Pharmacy (Required)Pharmacist License (PS LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: PGY2 residency or PGY1 residency/fellowship plus one (1) year of clinical experience in a specialty area or PGY1 residency/fellowship plus active board certification. Alternatively, active board certification plus three (3) years of clinical experience in a specialty area.
