Cortica is looking for a Clinical Trials Nurse to join its growing team!
This role is instrumental in the execution of clinical trials by ensuring successful coordination, protocol adherence, and complex problem-solving of several clinical research studies at Cortica. In addition to performing phlebotomy, this role is responsible for administrative duties such as data management, participant recruitment, scheduling, and ensuring each research visit is conducted to protocol. This role operates independently but collaborates closely with the research coordinator team, Clinical Trials Manager, Investigators, and study sponsors to maintain compliance with all clinical trial conduct requirements. The Clinical Trials Nurse supports the growth of the Cortica Innovation Network by taking initiative when challenges arise, meeting them with innovative solutions, and ensuring projects are seen to completion. This role possesses comprehensive knowledge of clinical trials conduct and brings an added level of expertise to the team, leading others by performing the job duties listed below with initiative and accountability.

What will you do?
- Manage trial operations and oversee clinical research trials processes.
- Hold responsibility for problem-solving and decision-making to optimize clinical trial success as it relates to the experience of study participants, adherence to clinical trials standards, relationship with the Sponsor team, and the general success of the Cortica Innovation Network.
- Serve as an in-house phlebotomist for all active clinical trials, including responsibilities for drawing blood, processing blood and urine samples, packaging, and shipping out all samples in adherence to applicable protocols.
- Take initiative to complete study tasks in a purposeful manner, looping supervisory staff in when challenges arise.
- Provide mentorship and support the practical training of Research Coordinators. Communicate with families and organizations throughout the community to spread awareness of research opportunities for local children and adolescents.
- Recruit, screen, schedule, enroll, and run participants through study visits both in-clinic and in-home.
- Work closely with the team to ensure all visit tasks are performed to protocol.
- Master various research assessments, which may include ECGs, vital signs, blood draws, and several clinical assessments.
- Maintain secure and accurate data collection, entry, and record-keeping.
- Coordinate with study sponsors to ensure regulatory documents and processes are followed.
- Maintain organization of all study materials, including laboratory materials, assessment kits, and investigational products.
- Support the start-up and close-out of clinical trials through training, source creation, and process development.
- Frequently travel within the community to provide accessibility to research participants.
We’d love to hear from you if:
- You have a nursing degree (RN, NP).
- You bring 1+ years of clinical trials experience.
- You have 1+ years of experience in phlebotomy.
- You hold an Active Phlebotomy Certificate in the state of California or willingness to obtain.
- You bring 1+ years of experience working with neurodiverse children and/or adolescents.

The base pay range for this opening is $87,300 to $108,100. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
