Job Summary
- Crisis Clinicians provide crisis intervention services to youth patients of Summit Pointe's First Step clinic.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Completed pre-screen assessments and establishes placement for customers in need of hospitalization.
- Completes eligibility screens for determination of appropriate level of care support services.
- Conducts or coordinates psychosocial treatment planning and the facilitation of group therapy for individuals recently diverted from or discharged out of psychiatric placement.
- May act as a clinical resource for agency teams and conducts educational presentations as needed.
- Works closely with Access Program and Youth Services to assist customers in navigating services and connecting to care.
- Participates in corporate quality improvement and problem-solving activities.
- May perform on-call crisis supports as needed.
Qualifications
Educational
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field with Licensure in the State of Michigan as a Social Worker (LMSW/LLMSW); Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP/TLLP); Professional Counselor (LPC/LLPC) mandatory.
Basic Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a behavioral health care setting utilizing evidence-based practices and behavior modification techniques.
- Knowledge of psychotherapy, counseling, research methods, crisis intervention techniques, assessment and interview methods, and ability to coordinate programs and services essential.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and verbal communication skills.
Trauma Informed System of Care:
A trauma-informed approach to service delivery emphasizes physical and emotional safety, choice, empowerment, and trustworthiness for customers. The impact of trauma is broad and touches many life domains. Participation is mandatory for activities required for Summit Pointe to become a “Trauma Informed System of Care.”
Physical Requirements:
- Professional office environment that generates noise from computer equipment/peripherals.
- Possible exposure to health risks (violence and infectious diseases).
- Sometimes lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 25 lbs.
- May be required to work variable hours/shifts.
