As a Cloud Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud-based data infrastructure, with a main focus on Databricks as a critical component. In addition to Databricks, you will be encouraged to work with a range of cloud data technologies to ensure our data architecture aligns with our business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with partners to refine data architecture strategies that align with business goals. Develop data architecture blueprints that support current and future needs
- Design and implement effective data models that enable efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis, while ensuring data integrity and quality
- Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to design scalable and cost-effective data solutions
- Work on improving data integration processes, ensuring smooth data flow from various sources into Databricks, and improving data quality and consistency
- Establish robust data governance practices and security measures to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data privacy standards
- Implement robust monitoring solutions for Databricks workloads and maintain comprehensive documentation of Databricks configurations and optimizations
- Work closely with Data engineers, BI Engineers, and other partners to understand their requirements and provide them with the tools and infrastructure needed for effective data utilization
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- 8 or more years of demonstrable experience as a Cloud Data Architect or a similar role with expertise in cloud-based data architecture along with proven Databricks experience
- Strong proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of data security, compliance, and governance standard processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical partners
