About the Job
We are looking for a dedicated engineer to help build and scale our public cloud platforms. This engineering team is responsible for building scalable solutions to provide observability across the enterprise. The team works on diverse challenges that require engineers to work on building engineering solutions from scratch or building on opensource solutions. Ideal candidates will have a background in building software engineering products and good understanding of observability concepts. Good fit for full stack developer and opportunity to work on mostly backend and some front-end development.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on experience deploying and/or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale.
- Deep practical knowledge and experience developing solutions using languages like Python, or Golang
- Design thinking mindset in architecting solutions with scale and resiliency
- Experience working on Logging, Metrics, and Tracing frameworks and understanding of Logging and Metrics Data Models.
- Strong AWS experience, working with API Gateway, Lambda.
- Observability experience, knowledge around Splunk, or Data Dog or Prometheus.
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, JIRA, ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation Templates etc...)
- Experience working on large-scale projects, working in an agile methodology.
- Hands-on experience with Open Telemetry (OTEL) or any opensource implementations
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation tools
- Big plus having experience in building, enhancing, and supporting modern Observability platform (Open source or Vendor product)
- Experience operating and/or using modern observability tools at scale (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger, Open Telemetry, fluentD, fluentBit, Open Tracing, Datadog, Splunk, etc…)
- Noticeable contribution to opensource projects a big plus
- Help define and execute a comprehensive cross-platform observability strategy, ensuring that Fidelity’s systems are always available when our customers need them.
- Bring together technical, procedural, and financial data to reduce toil and increase efficiency.
- Troubleshoot stack-wide engineering issues related to hardware, software, network, applications, and cloud service providers.
