The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, GS-2210-13 located HQ AFOSI IT Directorate, Infrastructure and User Services Division, Quantico, VA.
This highly visible role advises the infrastructure operations team and the application development division on the effective deployment and migration of AFOSI applications to various cloud services, advises other team members on cloud issues, and reports cloud systems status to AFOSI leadership and elements of the Department of the Air Force cyber enterprise. Strong interpersonal skills to research and coordinate with Air Force, DoD and Federal Law Enforcement agencies is required.
• US citizenship is required • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance • Must sign a non-disclosure agreement • This is a designated drug testing position • Selectee must undergo an internal background investigation by AFOSI and must be approved for duty by the Commander of AFOSI or the Commander’s designated representative(s). • Knowledge of a wide range of IT concepts, principles, methods, policies, and practices in related technical areas, such as knowledge of strategies employing the following service model types: Platform-as-a-Service (PasS), Infrastructure as- a-Service (IaaS), Software as-a-Service (SaaS), and Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS) and related supporting virtualization tools and techniques; IT system testing and evaluation, enterprise architecture, and cyberspace security; and ability to provide expert advice, guidance, and oversight for the execution of command and subordinate unit cyberspace activities. • Knowledge of the organization’s policy and planning formulation process along with its mission and objectives to prepare IT policies and plans. • Knowledge of current project management processes and techniques applicable to IT infrastructure projects covering a wide range of technology, customer requirements, and geographic locations • Expert knowledge of budgetary processes, cost-benefit analysis methods, and analysis of performance data to prepare persuasive budget recommendations in support of IT requirements. • Cyberspace Qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes Cyberspace work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoDM 8140.03, para 4.2.a.(2)., requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role and resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role. A waiver of these requirements may be granted per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to achieve and maintain the proper Cyberspace Qualification may result in removal from this position
