Overview:
Senior consultant level professional providing counsel and advice to top management on significant Cloud applications and engineering matters often requiring coordination between organizations; focuses on providing thought leadership across multiple disciplines; recognized internally as "the go-to person" for the most complex Cloud Engineering assignments. Implements organization's cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance and support of cloud architecture. Supports development and execution of cloud implementation strategy within organization's existing IT infrastructure. May work with stakeholders across organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions.
Roles And Responsibilities:
- Implement best practices in cloud infrastructure, emphasizing Site Reliability, Observability, and Scalability.
- Foster strong collaboration with various teams, working closely with Product Managers, DBAs, Developers, DevOps, SRE and Data Engineers to implement AWS standard methodologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cost optimizations early in the design process.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, manage issues, and allocate support as necessary.
- Architect and implement technical solutions which improve the service level of the on premise and cloud platforms
- Perform incident investigation, diagnosis, and provide resolution
- Manage cluster provisioning, performance tuning, and security configuration
- Perform system monitoring and remediation of any platform related issue
- Identify recurring problems and perform root cause analysis
- Ensure continuous availability of data platform services.
- Document and maintain environment architecture
- Identify opportunities for platform improvements and present recommendations to management
- Developing, improving, deploying, and supporting Cloud services
- Working on a collaborative team in an Agile and DevOps environment
- Be able to demonstrate best practices pertaining to CloudOps development along with a willingness to continually learn
- Following security guidelines to maintain secure and compliant Cloud services by working with Risk and Security teams
- Looking for automation opportunities and building scripts to automate tasks
- Collaborating with Product Teams to support standard operations and processes
- Collaborating with Infrastructure build team for environment handoff, build operations, and troubleshooting
- Monitoring and analyzing cloud resource usage to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Creating and maintaining technical documents for cloud infrastructure and related processes.
- Working with stakeholders to understand the modifications they wish to apply to their current systems
- Analyzing current systems to find flaws that can jeopardies cloud security
- Uploading business information to a cloud computing platform and setting up simple retrieval mechanisms for data
- Staying updated on advancements in the field of cloud computing to advise businesses and clients on industry best practices
- Increasing cloud storage capacity to store more files and crucial corporate data
- Ensuring the protection of data in computer systems by working with cybersecurity and IT staff
- Troubleshooting issues pertaining to cloud application failure or security flaws
- Creating and installing cloud computing solutions in accordance with client or employer requirements
- Automating specific system operations to enhance efficiency and speed
- Testing designs to find and fix mistakes and make system improvements
- Evaluating and identifying the best cloud solutions in collaboration with engineering and development teams
- Developing, establishing and implementing modular cloud-based applications
- Locating, evaluating and fixing infrastructure risks and deployment problems
- Periodically evaluating computer systems and offering suggestions for performance enhancements
- Offering support and guidance to meet customer requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Or Master's Degree in Computer Science or any relevant field.
- Has operated during 5 years as Site Reliability Engineer
- Used to work as on call engineer
- Used to work in Cloud Environments
- Used to work in Linux systems
- Used to work in complex environments under strong constraints
- AWS knowledge
- Core infrastructure knowledge: networking (architecture, internal, tcp/ip...), software system architecture, operating systems, common web protocols (https, proxy, dns...), databases, middleware's, and security concepts
- Strong Linux skills
- Strong programming (java groovy) and scripting skills (shell, python)
- Cloud automation technologies (chef, puppet)
- Understanding of common monitoring technologies
- Pro-active self-starter and highly autonomous
- Strong autonomy
- Strong organization skills
- An experience in management is also appreciated
