Job Summary:
As a Collections and Deductions Analyst you will manage and perform credit and collection activities in a timely, accurate and responsible manner. Minimize potential bad debt exposure through analysis of account data, buying patterns, seasonality and market conditions within the customer base.
Partners with internal/external customers in researching and resolving deductions. Makes necessary contact with customers/sales to resolve deduction issues. Creates processes and data collection procedure to ensure the timely resolution of deductions. Assists G/L manager in identifying and researching trends by deduction type or customer account.

Job Summary:

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Create month end reports to accurately track financial information.
- Accurately perform a high volume of data entry.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers through a high degree of professionalism and excellent interpersonal/ communication skills.
- Monitor and collect past due balances, maintaining a follow up system with notes in accordance with corporate policies and guidelines.
- Respond to sales and customers inquires related to billing, deductions and/or collections matters in a timely manner.
- Analyze customer requests for credit, assign credit lines and make credit recommendations for new customer setup.
- Perform credit analysis, contact financial references, and analyze credit data for both new & existing customers.
- Analyze customer’s deduction data to determine its validity. Initiates a supported credit memo/bill back through pre-determined approval chain.
- Coordinates and follows up on information sent to other functional departments to minimize the turnaround time on deduction resolution.
- Communicates information/holds meetings regarding knowledge of customer deductions/patterns with other departments (sales & marketing) to aid in resolution and reduction of short payments/billbacks.
- Develop relationships with key customer contacts through daily interaction with their Sales, Customer Service and Accounts Payable departments.
- Other tasks/projects as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree – Finance/Accounting with 4-5 years relevant experience.
- Very Good Analytical/problem solving, business writing, and communication skills.
- Team player; works/communicates within a team and multiple functional areas to resolve internal and external issues.
- Good Customer Service Skills.
- Good Organizational skills (Detail Oriented).
- Above Average PC skills, Microsoft Word/Excel (required) & Microsoft Access proficiency a plus.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to Multi-task and Take a Proactive approach to problem solving.
- Oracle ERP knowledge a plus.
