This is a senior role which is part of the Commercial Card Product Team, with ownership of solutions strategy, positioning, business management, sales enablement, and partnership/alliance development and management. The Strategic Initiatives Lead is responsible for the development of and successful execution of the Commercial Card solutions strategy. This position will have significant senior-level exposure and play a leading role in managing the current portfolio and product set, and determining long-term strategy as well as the allocation of investment dollars to execute the strategy globally.
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Meet regularly with sales and relationship management to determine client demand for new solutions
2. Develop and communicate short-term and long-term commercial card solutions strategy to key stakeholders
3. Lead Commercial Card product planning and investment portfolio planning processes
4. Assemble and guide project working groups. Must have strong initiative and confidence to lead workshops and meetings
5. Lead working groups of product managers and key stakeholders to rank new solutions capabilities that satisfy business line strategies. Use these ranked capabilities to develop business cases for project requests
6. Lead discussions to develop and maintain a strategic program roadmap, priorities, project plans and milestones by work-streams
7. Use business cases or other tools to model profitability of products and adjust pricing accordingly
8. Lead strategic projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. The successful candidate must be both a leader and a team player, working with solutions team members, solutions sales and relationship management, and functional teams, like bank card operations and information technology
2. Working knowledge (client value/processes, operational, technical) of cash management or commercial card solutions
3. 8-10+ years of experience in Commercial Card or Treasury and Payments
4. Role will have regular interaction with other Truist teams so some travel should be expected
5. Some knowledge of card industry players and ecosystem, as well as industry networks
6. Communication and interpersonal skills, and senior management presence, are critical to success in the role, given the level of cross-team and client/sales engagement involved, and senior management exposure
7. The candidate should be able to work independently and in multi-dimensional teams equally effectively, be creative, and be a critical thinker
8. Role requires a demonstrated self-starter that works well independently and creates own path to influence high-level metrics like revenue growth, sales growth and product profitability
9. Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Project Management, Product Management or Product Development experience with some or all Treasury Management banking products is a plus;
2. Knowledge of general business, working capital, accounting and management principles and practices is a plus;
3. Knowledge of general marketing and product commercialization
