Southwest Electrical Contracting Services Commercial Electrical Project Manager Summary: The Project Manager (PM) manages the labor, materials, and production on service work orders and projects. The PM provides technical expertise in existing or new installations as well as troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment installations in varying environments. A PM works under the guidance of a Service Manager on installations, alterations, additions, and/or troubleshooting/repairing electrical systems. A PM may oversee, direct and/or mentor a crew of 1-5 JM/apprentices on small to larger service projects. Exemplifying our code of values, you show respect and courtesy to all customers and employees. Essential Functions: Supports business development efforts, leads the preparation of proposals, serve as lead presenter in presentations to secure new project work. Experienced in developing scope of work, time and manpower estimates. Responsible for developing new business with current and new clients. Responsible for coordinating and running a project kick off meeting and forecasting manpower needs for projects Responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of all projects. Plan and organize a project. Create and track RFI's & COs. Work with Client and Owner on resolutions. Able to successfully lead and supervise a project team on projects of all sizes and levels of complexity. Ensure that all aspects of the project are followed through to completion which includes clients meetings, project team communication, monitoring budget and progress. Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the companys interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client. Perform special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization. Acquire all required permits and licenses for projects and ensure all inspections are handled correctly and in a timely manner Understand bid procedures and bid forms Monitor construction activities in conjunction with the onsite foreman to ensure project is being built on schedule, and within budget. Prepare monthly costing reports. Pay Apps for review. Work with the Division Manager to develop a budget and cost codes for the project and assign costs and manpower to the foreman level tracking Compile submittals, price change orders, and prepare estimates for the designed projects by finishing the design and prepare a complete project estimate Overall financial management of the projects along with profitability and budget Additional duties as required. Work Environment Perform the physical demands of the position working in indoor and outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand;walk;use hands to finger, handle or feel;and reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must physically able to lift heavy objects as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary, 40 hours per week, overtime is required. Travel, Nights, and Weekends required. Job Sites can be in multiple locations and out-of-area and overnight travel expected. Required Education and Experience Licenses: Current Drivers License and must have own reliable transportation. Commercial, Industrial & controls experience High School Graduate, GED or equivalent. Must have a valid Texas Journeymans Electrical License Pass background check, MVR, and drug test Preferred Education and Experience Preferred Experience to 4 years prior experience as Electrical Project Manager. NFPA 70, OSHA Training Proficiency in commercial, retail hospitality, institutional, and health care preferred.
