About the Job
Currently seeking a 6-8 Experience General/Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney in Pittsburgh, PA .The successful candidate will be responsible for self-directed case management from inception to resolution, including preparation for, attendance at, and conduct of hearings, depositions, drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, mediations, and trials/arbitrations. The ideal candidate will possess 6-8 years of private firm litigation experience, strong academic and employment credentials, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as legal research tools, including Westlaw and LexisNexis. They will also have excellent communication and writing skills, the ability to work independently and efficiently, and be licensed in Pennsylvania. - Requires a candidate with a strong background in commercial law, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of legal procedures and protocols
- Represent clients in all stages of business disputes and litigation
- Self-directed case management from inception to resolution (under partner).
- Prepare for, conduct, and attend hearings, depositions, and draft pleadings, discovery, and motions as well as mediations and trials/arbitrations.
- Review documents with superior attention to detail.
- Conduct legal research regarding complex procedural and substantive issues.
- Interface with clients and opposing counsel in a professional manner.
- Build relationships with existing clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities.
