Commercial Plumber - BESCO

Since 1891, Engert Mechanical has served the Knoxville and East Tennessee communities in Plumbing, HVAC and Mechanical Piping. We are growing our team! Engert is looking for reliable individuals who have experience in commercial and industrial plumbing and piping. Principal Accountabilities

• Review and understand project blueprints and specifications with assistance from site foreman.
• Responsible for piping system coordination for material list takeoff.
• Ability to cut, assemble, and adhere water piping systems in commercial and industrial environments.
• Ability to cut, assemble, and adhere sanitary, vent, and roof drainage systems, including PVC, cast iron pipe & fittings
• Ability to cut, assemble, and adhere medical gas piping, if certified.
• Assist helpers to understand job tasks to ensure work is being completed in a timely manner to meet the job schedule.
• Attend weekly safety toolbox talk meetings with foreman and other jobsite employees.
• Responsible for use of proper tools and PPE on site to perform assigned job tasks.
• Responsible for helping the foreman to keep as-built redlined drawings for closeout documents.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Calmly and constructively manage disagreements, conflicts, and crises as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to use hand tools and operate electric and/or battery powered tools.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. at times.
• Must be able to ascend and descend step ladders and work from elevated scissor lifts and scaffolding.

Qualifications for Success:

• 5+ years experience in related field and successful completion of apprenticeship.
• Adept at multitasking in fast paced environment, able to plan, prioritize, and organize individual and helper activities and processes
• Able to work independently and across multiple teams and levels within and outside of the organization and take initiative on projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Medical Gas Certification is preferred but not required.
