SUMMARY
The Commission Analyst is responsible for owning the commission payment process for all sales consultants. This role will analyze the Compensation Plan and monthly incentives to accurately and timely calculate commission and incentive payments. The Commission Analyst role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to audit the commission management software output to ensure amounts are reasonable and accurate. The Commission Analyst will research any discrepancies and update the commission software to accurately reflect any updates to the Compensation Plan.
This role will also process payroll for all employees and assist with benefits coordination.
This role is critical to the day-to-day operations of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Commission Responsibilities
- Become proficient in the company’s Commission Plan (and monthly incentives) and commission management system (e.g., Exigo) to allow for end-to-end processing of commissions and incentive payments, generate payment files, perform manual updates as needed, and address all reporting needs.
- Calculate independent sales force commissions on a monthly and weekly basis using the commission management system.
- Analyze the commission management system output for reasonability based on sales trends and expectations. Use and maintain the commission audit file in excel to identify any inaccurate data.
- Identify all discrepancies and make updates to the commission management system. This requires data analysis and the ability to clearly identify the cause of the discrepancy to work with IT to make the correction.
- Manage Zendesk tickets related to commission payments. This requires reviewing the request for missing commissions, researching the consultant’s account in the commission management system and determining why the payment was not included in the original payment run.
- Analyze monthly incentives and determine if an incentive template or manual calculation is needed. Incentive templates will be updated in the commission management system and this role will work with IT to make sure large incentives are updated in the consultant back office as needed.
- Analyze financial data to detect patterns, anomalies, and areas for improvement in the commission payment process.
- Calculate sales bonuses on a quarterly basis using Tableau for source data.
- Prepare detailed reports on reconciliation activities, discrepancies identified, and corrective actions taken.
- Ensure Compensation Plan details are at all times accurately reflected in our systems, tools, and internal documentation, and updates are immediately addressed in the event of an adjustment to the Compensation Plan or to a definition impacting the Compensation Plan.
- Work with Accounting to prepare and generate 1099 forms for commission payments in compliance with IRS regulations.
- Responsible for testing activities of all changes to the current commission calculation scheme in Exigo.
- Work closely with internal and/or external parties to resolve issues and improve the commission payment process.
- Ensure the company’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
Payroll & Benefits Responsibilities
- Accurately process payrolls as needed (e.g., regular bi-weekly and off cycle) for all employees (multi-state & Canada) using ADP Workforce Now.
- Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely, including but not limited to wages, bonuses, overtime, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, ensuring all information is accurately processed in a timely manner, including respective deductions in ADP.
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Provide ongoing end-user training on ADP WorkforceNow.
- Prepare and file required payroll tax reports and documentation (e.g., Form 941 and W-2s).
- Complete Verifications of Employment as required.
- Assist team members with direct deposit and withholding tax questions.
- Assist in preparing and distributing payroll-related reports for management and finance as needed.
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting necessary changes.
- Protect employee privacy by maintaining the highest level of confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience calculating commission payments.
- Experience with calculating commissions in Exigo or similar software.
- Intermediate competency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ADP WorkforceNow would be a plus.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to spot and correct errors in complex data sets.
- Strong ability to analyze data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
