Communications Officer / 911 Dispatcher - Excelsior Springs Police Department

The City of Excelsior Springs, a Kansas City suburb with a population of over 11,500, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Communications Officer/911 Dispatcher. 

This position requires shift work to cover a 24/7/365 communications center, which includes weekends and holidays.  Prior related experience is preferred, however we are willing to train the right person.  Advanced keyboarding skills and strong grammar/communication skills are required.

The Excelsior Springs Police Department offers a starting annual salary of $31,200.00 with excellent benefits, which includes ten (10) paid holidays, overtime pay, vacation pay, holiday pay, sick leave, life insurance, health dental and vision insurance, and a pension plan.  There is a casual dress code for this position.

The Excelsior Springs Police Department applicant screening process consists of the following steps:

• Employment Application and Background questionnaire

• Oral Board Interview

• Background Investigation

• Truth-Verification Examination

• Psychological Examination

• Drug Screening.  

You must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED.
