The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is the Department of the Navy (DON) component responsible for criminal, counterintelligence (CI), and counterterrorism (CT) investigations and operations, as well as Navy security and law enforcement policy matters. NCIS has jurisdiction within the DON for investigating criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities.
One of NCIS Director’s top priorities is establishing and protecting the NCIS brand in the digital space. The Office of Strategic Communications requires a Communications Specialist to have an area of focus in Web-design and communications strategy.
Responsibilities are but not limited to:
General Administration and Customer Service:
- Providing the ability to interpret customer requirements, identify the most efficient presentation of communications products, and develop concepts that communicate information consistent with NCIS style guidelines.
- Collaborating closely and independently with internal stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content.
Website Content Creation
- Designing and developing multimedia elements for the company website, including homepage sliders, banners, interactive infographics, and product/service videos.
- Collaborating with the Web Development Team to integrate multimedia content seamlessly into website layouts and user interfaces, ensuring optimal performance and accessibility.
- Conducting regular audits of website multimedia assets to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement, such as improving load times or mobile responsiveness.
- Implementing multimedia content management systems or plugins to streamline the publishing and management of website multimedia assets.
Cross-Platform Integration
- Integrating multimedia content strategies with broader marketing initiatives and campaigns, leveraging synergies between social media and website channels to maximize impact and reach.
- Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics for multimedia content on social media and website platforms, providing insights and recommendations for optimization and improvement.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Content Development, and UX/UI
- Design, to align multimedia content strategies with overall business objectives and user experience goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Digital Media, Multimedia, or another related field preferred.
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- 4-10 years of relevant experience and skills in conducting development and implementation of multiplatform digital campaigns, media outreach, and daily operations for the team.
- 4-10 years of relevant experience in designing and tailoring messaging and content strategies to the general public and special target audiences that involved a degree of complexity.
Skills should include:
- Understanding of Target Audience – Ability to identify and analyze target audience demographic, preferences, and behaviors relevant.
- Trend Analysis – Awareness of current and emerging trends in content consumption, technology, and design.
- Content Strategy Development – Proficiency in translating research findings into actionable insights to form content strategy development.
- Capability to align content themes, formats, and distribution channels with audience interests and demands.
- Cross-functional Collaboration – Effective in collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate insights into content planning and execution. Communication skills to articulate findings, recommendations, and implications for stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.
Technical System Understanding
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Proficient in web design software and content management systems (such as the Armed Forces Public Information Management System).
