The Communications Specialist, Global Corporate Media Relations is a communications professional focused on supporting the team that manages top-tier media relations for the Enterprise. This Specialist will support Media Relations Leadership to communicate Company news and initiatives in today's 24/7 news cycle, while fielding media inquiries through the global media relations inbox. This colleague will also help communicate Company news through press release distribution, maintaining the Company media center, as well as ownership of editorial calendars, assets, media lists, media subscriptions and team documents. The Specialist will also track, monitor, and evaluate the global news cycle on an ongoing basis through integrated reporting and analytics. Beyond these core responsibilities, the Specialist will have the opportunity to learn and grow through exposure to broader communications strategies that support the Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology sectors of the Johnson & Johnson business globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the Johnson & Johnson Corporate Brand and leverage media relations to help drive positive reputation impact on behalf of the brand.
- Work closely with Global Corporate Media Relations leadership to review, research, and assess media inquiries through ownership of the Global Corporate Media Relations inbox.
- Lead distribution of significant Company internal reports, press releases and media statements, including highly confidential and time-sensitive content.
- Conduct research into potential media engagements and provide recommendations on when and what outlet the team should engage.
- Assist in running JNJ.com's media page, ensuring reporters can easily find information and important updates.
- Support the development and execution of communications strategies that strengthen the reputation of Johnson & Johnson.
- Maintain rich understanding of communication industry best practices and emerging trends.
- A bachelor's degree is required
Required:
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in a communications role.
- Passion for media and consuming news, in all forms.
- Someone who works with an extremely high level of attention to detail and organization in handling sensitive information.
- A self-starter who is adaptable in a fast-paced environment and who can effectively handle and share ongoing updates with the team.
- Willingness to support the Company outside of traditional working hours.
- Has a basic understanding of - and interest in learning more about - Johnson & Johnson's business, Enterprise initiatives, and monitoring and reporting tools.
- A research-driven leader who carefully assesses available information prior to making recommendations.
- Strong writing / editing skills.
- Great teammate who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Resourceful, self-directed professional who navigates ambiguity to develop solutions.
- Values accountability for, and feedback on, the quality of their work.
The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.
The base pay range for this position is $60,000 to $96,600.
Bonus:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

- Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year

- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
