Job Title: Compliance Officer, Safety and Risk Management
Position Type: Full-Time
Overview:
Healthcare Nursing Center is seeking a skilled Compliance Officer specializing in Safety and Risk Management to ensure the hospital operates within regulatory guidelines and adheres to best practices in safety and risk management. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures that promote a safe and compliant environment for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor changes in healthcare laws and regulations and update hospital policies and procedures accordingly.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Safety Management:
- Oversee the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for staff to promote awareness and compliance with safety standards.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage risks related to patient care, workplace safety, and hospital operations.
- Investigate and analyze incidents and accidents to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
Incident Reporting and Investigation:
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
- Lead investigations into incidents to determine causes and develop recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain comprehensive records of incidents and investigations for regulatory compliance and internal review.
Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance:
- Prepare for and support external inspections, audits, and accreditation processes.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance and safety.
- Provide guidance and support to staff regarding compliance issues and risk management practices.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external parties regarding compliance and safety matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, Safety Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, safety management, or risk management, with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and standards.
- Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), or related certification is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in compliance and risk management software and tools.
