Daikin Applied is seeking a Compressor Development Engineer I. The Development Engineer I will assist in the development of primary systems and sub-systems of commercial HVAC equipment. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional team members, driving toward releasing innovative HVAC products. The candidate must have good communication skills and work well in a group setting, under supervision of others. Location: Plymouth, MN – Onsite
What you will do:
* Under supervision, develop electro-mechanical designs of appropriate complexity, supporting program quality, cost, and schedule
* Support the planning and testing of components and sub-systems, supporting performance, reliability, and industry certification.
* Work cross-functionally with groups such as design and test, supporting product design to meet business needs
* Support the execution of the new product development phase-gate process, demonstrating appropriate design maturity and growth across various milestones

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Understanding of mechanical concepts such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, structures, materials
* Hands-on experience testing electro-mechanical equipment
* Ability to problem solve within engineering and technical concepts
* Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
* 1 year of related work experience
* Basic skills with CAD applications
