Background:
The Breck Technology department is responsible for hardware and software support of all academic and operational technology in the institution. We aim to provide timely and excellent support to all our constituents through personal service and clear communications.
This position provides technical support, repair and maintenance of all student, faculty and staff hardware and software systems as well as supporting audio/video production as necessary for community events. We work collaboratively as a department to serve as primary or backup support to specific areas of the school as assigned.

Our new Computer Technician has:

Knowledge of, and a passion for audio/video production, high-quality presentation spaces and live-streaming technology stacks.

Knowledge of macOS, Apple iOS, and Windows administration.

Knowledge of collaborative educational software tools

Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, preferably JAMF.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software computer problems

Ability to clearly translate technology jargon into non-technical language

Ability to interface cooperatively, empathetically, courteously and professionally with students, teachers and co-workers in a way that strengthens confidence in their ability to use technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide primary support for classroom, meeting and event spaces in the school.

Provide primary support for assigned operational departments of the school.

Provide A/V support of school events requiring live-streaming or complex presentations.

Ensures the classroom technology experience is high quality, including visual, audio and classroom-specific technology.

Support the hardware and software for all faculty, staff and students

Utilize ticketing and repair systems to provide support, track inventory, process repairs and provide loaner equipment as needed

Serve as a resource in our tech support space for all constituents

Provide backup tech support as necessary for people and places throughout the school.

Remain informed on technology trends by ongoing training and attending workshops, seminars or conferences and reviewing published information.

Through our mobile device management, develop, test and deploy software packages for Students and Faculty, maintaining up-to-date software and security programs for student computers.

Anticipate, test, and incorporate new technology that will enhance Student and Staff education/experience.

Complete printer installation, setup, basic maintenance, and adjustment/updates, supply orders and repairs

Other duties, as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
-
College degree preferred
-
Proficiency with macOS, Windows, Android and iOS devices

Experience working with students of all ages

Experience in a helpdesk environment

Relevant certifications with Apple, JAMF, Google or progress towards certification preferred

Understanding of audio/visual hardware setup and troubleshooting including monitors, projectors, interactive displays, amplifiers, microphone, sound systems, Bluray/DVD Players, Webcams, Video Cameras, and AV Streaming.
