About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Irrigation/Landscaping Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects through accurate estimations and efficient project management.
The Construction Estimator is responsible for producing timely, accurate and detailed cost information of landscape projects by evaluating construction sites, plans and specifications. They compile required information, pricing and labor estimates to develop detailed proposals. Upon award, estimator becomes assistant project manager.
A minimum of five years estimating and/or landscaping experience is required, all references will be checked.
Responsibilities:
Actively seek and analyze commercial construction projects for bidding
Perform detailed quantity take-offs and assemble bid items using takeoff software
Analyze plans, specifications, and other bidding documents
Manage bid communication, including change orders, revisions, and value engineering request
Collaborate closely with clients, vendors, management and sales teams
Create comprehensive landscape and irrigation designs, ensuring alignment with client specifications and industry standard
Maintain and update knowledge on irrigation regulations, inspection requirements, and emerging technology
Review sites and gathering information and data for proposals
Manage bid calendar and meeting deadlines delivering accurate and detailed proposals
Required Skills:
Have experiential knowledge of landscape construction process, materials, and equipment with the ability to read plans and specifications
Have knowledge of multiple software platforms including AutoCad, Adobe, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Be self motivated and possess excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong problem-solving mindset
Good interpersonal and written communication skills
Be detailed oriented
Strong math skills including basic arithmetic, algebra and geometry
Strong typing skills
Ability to conduct thorough site analyses and calculate related quantities for soil, plants, mulch, and labor
Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured on the company policy
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in the Landscape Industry or related Construction Field is preferred.
A minimum of five years estimating experience is required.
