Construction Inspector, Civil / Environmental
Cole Solutions (https://www.colesolheadhunt.com/) has been retained by a national Engineering & Sciences consulting firm to identify & hire this critical team member in the Baltimore, MD region.
This Construction Inspector will be on a team developing civil and environmental infrastructure projects for our public works and private clients through all phases of a project lifecycle. You'll focus on construction inspection/oversight, with potential responsibilities and the opportunity for growth in construction management, operations support, and environmental monitoring.
This is considered a Hybrid Remote position. Projects are throughout the Baltimore & Maryland region, so local travel required. Overnight travel to work sites might also be required on a very limited basis.

Duties
The Construction Inspector will work with a senior construction manager and engineers to oversee civil and environmental construction. You will inspect construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards for projects including:
- Site development (grading, drainage, utilities, pavement, concrete, etc.)
- Stormwater management facilities
- Water and wastewater facilities
- Landfill cells and caps
- Document construction activities through daily reports and photographs.
- Work with the internal project team and contractor to correct any deficiencies.
- Participate in routine construction progress meetings and provide status reports.
- Support communication with contractors, clients, and regulators.
- Assist internal project teams with a variety of field engineering tasks or environmental monitoring, as needed.
Requirements
- H.S. diploma/GED or an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, construction management, building construction, civil engineering, or a related field.
- 4 or more years of civil or environmental construction inspection experience.
- Experience with soils/materials testing, reinforced concrete, utilities, pavement, drainage, and geosynthetics inspection is preferred.
- Anticipated salary range is $50,000 - $80,000, based on relevant experience and capabilities
