About the Job
EV Construction is currently seeking Construction Management Interns for the summer of 2025. This position will work on all aspects of construction projects with responsibility for project execution while working alongside a Project Manager and/or Field Manager to complete objectives within a time frame and available resources. Candidates should be in the process of obtaining either a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in construction management or a related construction field. Depending on the level of experience, this internship may include functioning as a stand-alone assistant project manager or field engineer, under the guidance of the project site leadership. Seeking individuals who are eager to learn, good communicators, organized, and excited about construction. This is a temporary summer position with a potential full-time opportunity at the end of the internship.
DUTIES:
1. Help support day to day activities of the project manager and/or field manager.
2. Help support the project team in the field.
3. Maintain and update project documents.
4. Prepare for and support with coordination meetings.
5. Help assemble, organize, and execute trade contractor change orders.
6. Assist with preconstruction efforts for projects or participate in bid teams when needed.
7. Assist in the management and coordination of the RFI process.
8. Assist in the management and coordination of the Submittal process.
9. Help support any self-perform trades on projects.
10. Help coordinate overall schedule updates as well as look-ahead scheduling with field team.
11. Participate in applicable project Owner, Architect and Contractor meetings (OAC).
12. Engage with field and executive leadership through job shadowing and interviews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational and experience requirements include
- Currently enrolled in a Construction Management Bachelor's program at an accredited college or university.
- Basic understanding of how to read plans and specifications (CSI Masterformat) is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to actively listen, communicate in ways that foster trust and show flexibility
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Prior work experience in coordinating or managing projects is preferred
